Kamryn McRae (She/Her) is an emerging dance artist. Born in Regional Victoria, Mildura and now based in Naarm (Melbourne), Kamryn pays her respects to the traditional custodians of the lands that she creates and learns on, the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation, Always was, always will be, Aboriginal land.
Kamryn carries an immense passion in choreography, stage management, teaching, and production. Her versatile education and training has informed her commitment to the form and shaped her into the moving and thinking body that she is today.
Kamryn is currently a teacher at La Verite Dance Projects in Brunswick, Melbourne where she prioritises a respectful and safe environment that fosters well-being and creativity.

Kamryn has immense experience in dance teaching, as she began her teaching journey in 2019. Whilst balancing her time training in dance she spent her time assistant teaching ballet classes where she assisted with teaching kids aged 3-15 with class and exam work. She is now a part of the team at La Verite Dance Projects as of 2024, where she teaches students aged 3-adult.
Kamryn specialises in youth and junior school teaching where she prioritises inclusivity and wellbeing to ensure optimal experiences for all students that she teaches. Her goal is not only to impart knowledge but also to cultivate curiosity and resilience in her students.
During class with Kamryn, you can expect no matter how familiar she is with students, she begins each class with a check in, where she allows the space for emotions and thoughts regarding the class to be shared. She believes that beginning each class like this allows for students from a young age to reflect and build awareness on their emotions allowing for emotional resilience and intelligence to blossom.
Kamryn’s classes maintain the values of focus, technique, respect, and collaboration allowing students to equally develop skills whilst enjoying the beauty and comfort of dance.
She is also a soon to be graduate at the Victorian College of the Arts where she has studied a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance). Here she has studied in a variety of dance forms including, contemporary, street dance, ballet, butoh, rope work and many more.
Kamryn began her dance training in 2008 at the Mildura Ballet & Dance Guild Inc where she trained in ballet, jazz, tap and contemporary dance. At this school she was also a student teacher and performed, volunteered and assisted with classes and concerts from 2008-2021. Her most recent training at the VCA includes learning from industry professional's such as Yumi Umiumare, Melissa Toogood, Luke George, Julie Ann Minaai, Nicole Corea, Carol Brown, Kimball Wong and Kialea-Nadine Williams.
Ontop of her dance training Kamryn has also gained knowledge through her participation in workshops both nationally and internationally. Notably she has participated in ImPulsTanz, Vienna 2023 apart of the impact program and also has taken part in Australian Youth Dance Festival 2022.
Kamryn’s performance experience includes student works TRAMSIT 2022 and MALWARE 2023. As well as PLANT NATION 2024 with Gregory Lorenzutti and OCEAN AN ARRANGEMENT 2024 with Melissa Toogood. And most recently MOTHERS GROUP as part of the student lead Muse Festival 2024.
Additionally to her performances she has experience in stage management. She has worked as a stage manager for multiple works, including Night Visions, a student work performed in MUDFEST 2023 and TRANSMITTING MAGENTA for Guild Fringe, a part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival 2024.

Kamryn’s artistic vision includes valuing the integrity of inclusivity, passion, collaboration, community, and respect. Her artistic practice is informed by a passion for choreography, teaching, stage management and administration. Kamryn aims to create and provide for works that resonate with her social beliefs and personal values within the current state of the world.
